This colonial city was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996 in recognition of the many well maintained and restored examples of colonial architecture in the historic center of the city. Among the notable structures is a massive aqueduct completed in 1738 to bring water into the heart of the city. Its tallest arches are over 75 feet in height!
