(Outgoing Program)
PrintShare
This multi-destination program offers the best of both worlds--students begin their program at the CEA Seville Center, and continue their studies in Barcelona at the CEA Barcelona Center. Designed for students of all majors who are eager to explore several regions of Spain, this program offers an interdisciplinary understanding of contemporary Spain. Courses at the CEA Seville Center are designed to help you understand the multi-faceted cultural landscape of identities and notions that contribute to Spain today. Then, polish your appreciation of these topics through further study in Barcelona, where you'll gain an enhanced perspective of business, art, language and/or society. While in transit from Seville to Barcelona, students will participate in an overnight excursion to Madrid.
With a population of less than 1 million, Seville offers a down-to-earth lifestyle and relaxed cultural experience. Located in southern Spain, Seville is considered the guardian of all that is traditional in Spanish culture. Seville boasts a pedestrian-friendly,a centralized historic
district that's, among the largest in Europe. Renowned as the birthplace of flamenco, Seville also is home to stunning architecture, including the Alcazar palaces and the world's largest Gothic cathedral, La Giralda.
Engage in true Seville culture through a myriad of traditional Spanish activities, including bullfighting, flamenco dance, and festivals, such as Semana Santa and Feria de Abril. Terrace cafés where people meet to enjoy their afternoon café con leche line the streets; you can join them to practice your Spanish. Sunbathe by the river banks, then relax at a local tapas bar where you'll enjoy good food and conversation after a day spent strolling through the shaded, winding alleyways of the Barrio Santa Cruz, the old Jewish quarter.
