Get Involved & Global Ambassadors
Global Ambassador Mentor Program
The Global Ambassador Mentor Program pairs new international students with student mentors at the University of Mississippi to foster cultural understanding and community connections.
Global Ambassadors are representatives of the University of Mississippi who help international students acclimate to life in Oxford. They do so by inviting them to social events and campus activities and introducing them to Ole Miss college traditions such as tailgating, pep rallies, Greek life, and local arts.
Each Global Ambassador will assist a small group with two or three international students. Our international students join our campus from around the globe: India, Bangladesh, China, France, Ireland, South Korea, Australia, Germany, and Egypt… to name a few!
If you are a current University of Mississippi student interested in getting to know our new international students and helping them connect to our community, then this program is right for you!

International Students | How to Get Involved on Campus
On our campus, exchange students are not just visitors. You have the same opportunities to get involved as other University of Mississippi students. We encourage our students to take advantage of our campus's vibrant activities throughout the semester. Your Global Ambassador will also be a great resource to help you get connected with our campus and community.

International Program Activities and Events
The Office of Global Engagement also organizes activities and excursions for all international students throughout the semester. We offer different opportunities every semester, and almost all of our events are free. In the past, our office has taken trips to see a Memphis Grizzlies NBA game, tour the National Civil Rights Museum, and travel as far as New Orleans, Louisiana! We also regularly host activities on campus such as tailgating, bowling nights, movie nights, karaoke nights, and more! These activities and excursions allow international students to see different representations of American culture, whether that is through the traditional college football experience or through visiting nearby destinations.
To stay informed on all activities and excursions happening around campus, check your @go.olemiss.edu email for a weekly newsletter sent by our International Engagement and Success Office.
