European Union - Themes of Comparative Law: A European Perspective - January Term

Program Overview

European Union

Taught in English, this program gives you the chance to visit important landmarks and immerse yourself in law like you never have before.

Based in the historical city of Freiburg, Germany, this unique program introduces you to law studies with a special focus on the European heritage and contemporary European culture of law and justice.

As part of your coursework, you also visit cities like Strasbourg, Karlsruhe, Geneva, and Lausanne to see first-hand what you're learning about in the classroom.

Europe will be your classroom. Imagine visiting the European Parliament and discussing current social and political issues with EU officials, or getting to meet with local legal experts to discuss contemporary topics in European law. Welcome to study abroad!

Why The European Union?

The European Union is not only an important political and economic institution, but a community of nearly 500 million citizens and one of the largest markets in the world. As the European Union continues to grow in size and influence, understanding the EU and the countries seeking membership, becomes key to understanding Europe and our world. With its central European location, the picturesque city of Freiburg makes an ideal starting point for the exploration of the European Union.
