Program Description:

Dig in to one of Europe’s culinary and cultural capitals as you explore all that Florence and the Tuscan region have to offer, from pastas to piazzas. During this program, you will learn more about one of the world’s most celebrated regional cuisines and experience, first-hand, the culture that influences it. Through excursions and interactions with local food experts, you’ll come to better understand the “farm to table” ideology of Italy and the Mediterranean.

Course Credit NHM 468 or NHM 595 for 6 hours
Prerequisites Minimum 2.5 GPA, good academic and disciplinary standing at UM, approval from Dr. Laurel Lambert and from your academic dean's office

Program Price Includes: Tuition, housing, some meals, excursions and ground transportation in Florence, international health insurance
